Hard wearing full-grain leather is the material of choice for Taurus Leather Company when constructing a product that is expected to endure years of daily use. Each hide is precisely cut into the multiple panels that become the holders, pouches and knife sheaths of a Taurus product.
At Taurus, the best of old-fashioned craftsmanship is combined with the latest manufacturing technology. The introduction of a computerized cutting machine in recent years has significantly accelerated production speed and efficiency. The machine’s cameras scan the hide with its computer optimising the position and orientation of the various leather panels required, while avoiding any imperfections marked out by the machine operator. This maximises yield, keeping waste to an absolute minimum and producing perfect cuts for our skilled machinists. The leather is then sewn and riveted by our experienced operators. The result is a superior quality, extremely durable product for the most discerning buyer.
